Kindred HQ has a new face in the office...

...A big welcome to Hattie Fitzgerald:

Hi – I’m Harriet (a.k.a Hattie) and I’ve just joined as an Account Exec here at Kindred. I’ll be working with the impressive coverage producing team that is the Chartered Management Institute.  I previously worked at Munro & Forster where I helped recruit some teachers and encouraged people to get tested for hepatitis C!

I also run some events on the side. Last year I helped jellymongers Bompas and Parr create the world’s largest punchbowl (4,000 litres of cognac based punch which you could float a raft across) and in the snowy early months of this year a couple of friends and I put on a pop-up indoor picnic. It was complete with fake grass, anti SAD lights, lots of heating, cake and cider, of which I’m a big fan as I originally come from Somerset.

Apprentice Adam speaks out

Following on from our last blog, Adam, our apprentice extraordinaire, speaks up about school choices, why he wanted to be an apprentice and what it’s like working at Kindred HQ:

Although I thoroughly enjoyed lingering around the common room while others actually attended lessons at school, I soon realised I had slightly more ambition than those who had to spend years retaking exams. So I decided to leave sixth  form to pursue something that appealed to me more; the problem being, I hadn’t found it yet.

I am not all about textbooks and classrooms. It’s just not me.  I needed an environment where I could express myself so I researched apprenticeships and began to warm to the thought of being treated like an adult in a 'proper' job. I wanted to apply the skills I had learnt through school whilst learning valuable practical skills on the job, it sounded good.

When I was given the chance to work at Kindred, I was excited but nervous. But to be surrounded by a diverse group of people, each of who have contributed to the way I work and my professional progress has been pretty cool. During my time here, I feel I have matured and gained valuable insight to working life. Best decision I’ve made.
